Pizza Hut is undoubtedly one of the most popular pizza chains in the world. I mean, who didn't enjoy one of their pizzas at least once? Their restaurants can be found anywhere in the world, well, almost. If burgers and fries are not your favorite fast food snack, chances are that Pizza Hut has crossed your mind after a night of clubbing or whenever you did some sight seeing. That being said, it's only natural that many fans worldwide are showing some curiosity about the ins and outs of the company. That's why I decided to list the 21 most frequently asked questions about Pizza Hut below. Let's goooooo! 1. Is Pizza Hut A Restaurant? Yes, Pizza Hut is considered a restaurant because you're able to go in, sit down, and order a meal. While you can also order their food for pick up, it's still made to order, which means everything is made fresh just for you. Even though their food is usually cooked quickly and therefore also considered fast food, the business is still a restaurant for the above reasons. 2. Is Pizza Hut Fast Food? Pizza Hut is indeed considered a fast food restaurant because compared to fancy dining establishments, the food is cooked relatively quickly. In addition, it's easy for people to go in, order their food, then wait for it to be ready to take home. Just like several other fast food restaurants, you can order from Pizza Hut and have the food delivered if you like. 3. Why Is Pizza Hut’s Logo A Hat? Pizza Hut has had a total of eight different logos since the restaurant first opened in 1958. With the exception of the very first logo, all of them have included the iconic red hat. While it looks like a hat, it's meant to look like a red roof, with the red color symbolizing tomato sauce. But there is another reason for the red color: Red is said to make people hungry, which is why so many restaurants use red in their tablecloths, napkins, and more. 4. Is Pizza Hut Food Good? As proven by their 18,000+ restaurants in existence today, Pizza Hut’s food is excellent. It's made to order so it's always fresh. There are dozens of food items on the menu, including pizza, pasta, salads, desserts, bread sticks, and chicken wings. Many Pizza Hut restaurants also have a food and salad bar where you can eat all you want for one specific price. Millions of people all over the world would answer this question with a resounding “yes”. 5. Is Pizza Hut Food Expensive? Pizza Hut food is considered mid-range when it comes to price. While you can’t get a pizza for $5 like at some pizza chains, the restaurant is not exactly expensive. Most of their pizzas are in the $10 to $12 range, and they have tons of specials to enjoy that can save you a lot of money. They also have their “box” dinners, which usually contain pizza, breadsticks, and wings. These sell for $15 to $20. Compared to most other restaurants that sell pizza, Pizza Hut prices are very reasonable. 6. Does Pizza Hut Make Their Own Dough? Pizza Hut dough is made at a facility owned by the restaurant. After preparation, the dough is frozen until it's sent to the different franchises. Although the dough isn’t made in any specific franchise location, it's still made by someone at the Pizza Hut company. This ensures that it tastes the same regardless of where you buy it from. 7. Does Pizza Hut Fry Their Pizza? Yes and no. Most Pizza Hut pizzas are cooked in a conveyor oven with a lot of oil added to the pan before the dough is placed inside. Once the oven heats up, the heat and the oil essentially “fry” the pizza, which gives them a very unique taste. 8. Why Is Pizza Hut Crust So Good? While Pizza Hut crust is made before reaching the different restaurants, they're prepared with only fresh ingredients, which is why they taste so good. They also have many different types of crust, from thin to pan and more. The right combination of spices and other ingredients make them taste delicious. 9. Is The Pizza Hut Thin Crust Good? The thin crust pizzas at Pizza Hut are good because even though they're thin, they're not too thin or crispy. They're made with the right amount of crispiness and chewiness, which makes them perfect for anyone who loves thin-crust pizza. 10. What Is Pizza Hut Express? Pizza Hut Express is like a regular Pizza Hut restaurant, however, there's a limited menu which allows people to get in and out quickly. Not all Pizza Hut restaurants are Express restaurants, but the ones that are still serve great food (just fewer items). 11. How Big Is Pizza Hut XL? Pizza Hut doesn’t have an extra-large pizza, but they do have a large pizza, which is 14 inches in diameter, or 154 square inches. They also have a PANalicious pizza, which is 8.5 inches by 12 inches, or 102 square inches. Then there's the PANormous pizza, which is the size of two PANalicious pizzas, or 204 square inches. 12. How Big Is The Pizza Hut New Yorker? The New Yorker was a pizza made by Pizza Hut with 16 inches in diameter. As of this writing, however, that pizza has been discontinued. 13. Does Pizza Hut Use Real Cheese? Pizza Hut does indeed use real cheese on their pizzas. On most pizzas, they use mozzarella or part-skim mozzarella cheese. On a few other pizzas, they use parmesan romano cheese instead. 14. Does Pizza Hut Fry Their Wings? Pizza Hut does fry all of their chicken wings. Most of them are deep-fried, which gives the company the possibility to offer both bone-in and boneless wings to their customers. While most of their wings are breaded, many others are not, but they're all deep-fried until they're nice and crispy. When Pizza Hut was first introduced to the world, their goal was to create delicious Italian food for their customers – not just pizza. Because of this, all of their dishes are made with an Italian flair. This includes their pizzas, pasta dishes, salads, and everything else on their menu. For that reason, many people say that the Pizza Hut pasta tastes good. 16. Is Pizza Hut All You Can Eat? The only way you can enjoy “all you can eat” at Pizza Hut is if you find a location that offers the all-you-can-eat food bar and visit them in person. With takeout or delivery orders, as with regular orders off of their menu, offering “all you can eat” is impossible. But there are still lots of restaurants that provide an all-you-can-eat food bar, which usually includes both pizza and salads. 17. Is Pizza Hut Delivery Free? As of 2013, Pizza Hut customers who order delivery items online are not charged a delivery fee. This rule applies to all orders that are more than $25. In other words, if you order something that costs less than $25, you may still have to pay a delivery fee. Pizza Hut always allows their customers to pay for delivery items with cash, but it’s a good idea to let them know as soon as you order that you’ll be paying with cash. They always accept debit and credit cards, but they have to know ahead of time that you’re paying with cash so that the delivery drivers will carry enough change. When ordering delivery food online, it's easy to indicate that you’ll be paying with cash. 19. Does Pizza Hut Give Refunds? Pizza Hut does occasionally give refunds to their customers, but it's on a case-by-case basis. If you’re interested in a refund, the best thing to do is speak to the manager of the restaurant, or contact their Customer Care department via their toll-free number. In most cases, if you have a legitimate complaint, you will be granted your refund. 20. Does Pizza Hut Accept 50- or 100-Dollar Bills? Pizza Hut does accept 50- or 100-dollar bills. If you’re paying with a large bill at their restaurant, it’s usually not a problem. If you’re paying with a large bill for their delivery service, however, it’s best to let them know ahead of time so that the driver has enough cash for your change. Always check with the restaurant before making your delivery order. All of their restaurants are different, and some of them will tell you that the driver can only give you change for a 20-dollar bill and no higher. 21. Are You Supposed To Tip At Pizza Hut? Tipping is never a requirement at Pizza Hut, but most wait staff and delivery drivers expect a tip. Think about it this way: Wait staff and delivery drivers often make minimum wage or less, so if they do not receive good tips, their paychecks can be pretty lousy.
