Who doesn’t know Burger King? I mean, they’re almost anywhere in the world. At least, that’s my conclusion after traveling quite extensively. My favorite burger is the Whopper, by far. But I get it, tastes differ. I even grabbed one after a long night shift when people started to wake up.
I must say that I don’t receive a lot of questions about Burger King. I think they share a lot of useful information on their website, or they just have great communication skills. But of course, there are a couple of frequently asked questions I’d like to share with my readers. So let’s get this thing going!
1. Is Burger King a restaurant?
Burger King is a restaurant, just like most fast food chains. Any place that serves paid meals and allows people to take a seat is considered a restaurant. People sometimes argue about this because not all fast food chains have waiters or waitresses, but that’s not necessary to still call it a restaurant.
2. Is Burger King American?
Burger King is an American fast food chain. In 1953, the company was founded and called Insta-Burger King. One year later, in 1954, it was rebranded to Burger King.
3. Does Burger King serve breakfast all day?
No, Burger King only serves their breakfast in the morning. They usually start at 6 am and close the breakfast at around 10:30 am. On Sundays these times could be between 7 am and 11 am. Breakfast hours could be earlier, but it depends on the location. Your local Burger King should be able to tell you the exact times.
4. Does Burger King grill their burgers?
Burger King uses a flame grill powered by gas to prepare their burgers. After grilling, the burgers are stored in a heating component that keeps them at a certain temperature. When someone places an order, the burger is heated up again in a microwave.
5. Why do Burger King burgers taste so good?
Burger King burgers get their typical taste because they’re prepared on a flame grill. Their burgers receive direct heat from the grill, which adds to their smoky flavor. Tasty ingredients, sauces, vegetables and optional additions like jalapeño peppers are a finishing touch. It’s all a matter of personal taste as well. I mean, some people prefer a tasty whopper while some others grab a burger at Jack in the Box. So yes, in my opinion it’s a personal question.
6. Does Burger King cook the Impossible Burger on a separate grill?
The Impossible Burger at Burger King is cooked on the same chain broiler as other burgers, so not separately. Visitors can request them to prepare their Impossible Burger in a microwave. I’m not sure if this has an impact on the taste, but you could give it a try if you’re concerned about the grill.
7. Is the smoke from Burger King Real?
The smoke from Burger King is real. Their flame grill allows flames to get in contact with their meat directly, which includes the fat. As a result, you could see smoke coming from their grills. It’s not a smoke machine like some people fantasize about.
8. Can you order a Whopper in the morning?
You can order a Whopper at Burger King in the morning, it’s part of their “Burgers for Breakfast” program. However, not all burgers are available in the morning. The only time I can recall ordering a burger in the morning was after a long night shift. But party people that left the bar a little late could find this beneficial as well.
9. Why does Burger King Sprite taste different?
Sprite is prepared by mixing soda syrup with water that went through a carbon dioxide tank. Depending on the settings that a restaurant uses to create their mix, tastes can be different. Possible other ingredients can also make Sprite taste unique among some fast food restaurants.
10. Does Burger King Serve Coca-Cola Or Pepsi?
Burger King serves Coca Cola since 1990. The fast food chain sold Pepsi to their clients before that time. Other popular restaurants that serve Coca-Cola are McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Domino’s Pizza and Subway.
So which fast food restaurants serve Pepsi? Some famous brands like KFC prefer to sell Pepsi, but so do Pizza Hut and (one of my favorite restaurants) Taco Bell.
11. Why do Burger King fries taste weird?
Besides potatoes, Burger King adds a few other ingredients to their fries. One of these ingredients is rice flour which makes their fries more crunchy. Some people like them this way while others would prefer a stronger taste.
12. Does Burger King charge for extra toppings?
I’ve never been charged for extra toppings at Burger King. However, I wouldn’t be surprised if they charge more for extra bacon, cheese or even tomatoes. It all depends on the restaurant’s policy, so if you want to be sure, simply ask when ordering.
13. Does Burger King charge for extra onions?
Just like extra toppings, Burger King probably won’t charge you for extra onions. The same is often the case with any other vegetables. Since some people say they have been charged extra, I’d advise you to inquire about this question with one of their employees. Or, if you’re a huge onion fan, consider a burger like the whopper that already comes with onions.
14. Does a whopper come with cheese?
A Whopper at Burger King doesn’t come with cheese. If you prefer to have cheese on your Whopper, you have to ask the employee. It’s normal if they charge you extra for that. Whoppers do come with onions, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles and a few other ingredients. 15. What’s the difference between a Whopper and a Big King?
A Whopper is served with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles and mayonnaise. The Big King includes lettuce, onions, pickles, American cheese and King sauce. The biggest difference between the two is that one comes with cheese and the other one doesn’t. You can ask for cheese on a Whopper but you’ll have to pay extra.
16. What is Burger King XL sauce?
The Burger King XL sauce is a sauce used on their Big King burger. Some say it’s a little sweeter than some other popular burger sauces. It’s a very popular and tasty sauce that people seem to really love. Gotta try it some day!
17. Do you tip at Burger King?
Most people don’t tip at Burger King, but if you want you can. Some of their restaurants have a tip jar in their drive thru. It’s more common for people to tip whenever they have their burgers delivered, but that’s optional as well. Some restaurants even allow you to tip from their app or website when placing an order.
The Burger King in my city doesn’t have a tip jar in the restaurant itself, but my local Starbucks does (as I mentioned in my frequently asked questions about Starbucks article). Maybe some restaurants just don’t prefer to go through all the hassle when tips are limited anyway.
18. Why do Burger King onion rings cause gas?
Even though onion rings cause gas in most cases, some people say that the ones from Burger King make them fart the most. Ingredients like soybean oil are known to cause more gas, even though everyone reacts differently. Because their onion rings are so tasty, I suppose most of us don’t really mind that much.
19. Why are Burger King nuggets so cheap?
Nuggets are relatively cheap for fast food restaurants to buy, but preparing and serving them adds significant costs to the company. Even though they could still make a little profit in the end, it’s drinks and side dishes that usually make an entire meal profitable enough.
20. Why does Burger King ask for your name?
Burger King could ask for your name to make sure they deliver it to the right person. If you have a registered account, you’re able to use certain services, for which they need to check who you are. There could be other reasons I’m not aware of, but this is what I know.
21. Why does Burger King make you pull up?
If you’re asked to pull up in the Burger King drive thru, it means that your meal takes longer to prepare than expected. The order behind you could be finished even though you arrived earlier. I’ve only experienced this at McDonalds, but I guess this works the same with any fast food restaurant.
22. Can you use Burger King coupons in their drive thru?
You can use a Burger King coupon in their drive thru. It’s best to immediately tell the employee that you’re using a coupon code in order to make the process run smoothly. Like for example: “Hello, I’d like to use my coupon code for a Whopper”. Expect the employee to reply something like this: “Hello, no problem, can you please give me your code?”.
23. Does Burger King have free wifi?
Burger King offers free wifi for it’s customers. Even though this is the case in most of their restaurants, exceptions are a possibility. A manager could decide to (temporarily) put their wifi down for various reasons.

When it comes to burgers, opinions differ whether you should go to Burger King or McDonalds (also read my frequently asked questions about McDonalds). I think they both have their pro’s and con’s. Considering the fact that they’re both popular fast food chains to visit, it’s probably a matter of taste. Side dishes like fries could also be of importance, but if a burger is your main goal then fries won’t probably matter that much.
